Will a new driver give you 20 extra yards?
In this day of high profile marketing promotions , if we were to believe every golf company, every year each new driver would give you an extra 20 yards. It is true that modern technology can help you hit the ball further & straighter, but the truth be known the average amateur handicap has not decreased from the early 1960's. As, humans sometimes we look for the easy solution or the "SECRET" If you invested the amount of money you invest in that new driver into golf lessons , not only would you improve but your understanding of the game & knowledge would greatly improve.
So, what are you to do? Technology helps, modern clubs help , but investing in yourself will get you to where you want to be quicker.
Take the challenge of improving all aspects of your game not only the "Driver"
Enjoy the process.

Playing within your limits
It's been another busy week at the Academy. Lots of new clients & people getting ready for the new season. One recurring theme arose this week, that's the fact that golfers are trying to hit shots etc that they have never practiced or learned the proper method to achieve the correct outcome. The sentence " I watched **** hit this shot so I tried it" was spoken . As, golfers we all have to know our limitations both technically & mentally. It's imperative that you focus on course management & a defined structure for practice & learning. That's why I'm here, part of my philosophy is to give you the tools to achieve these skills that are specific to you, personally.
Sometimes the mantra KISS, keep it simple stupid, is the easy path forward.
The new season coaching programs are now up & running . Get in contact now & we can take your game to the next level.
Enjoy the Process,
Darren

Jordan Speith First Tournament of 2016
So, Jordan Speith shoots 30 under par at the first tournament of 2016 . Incredible score but let us have a look at his stats.
Ranking
Driving Distance 283.8 140
Driving Accuracy 60.34% 161
Greens in Reg 72.92% 109
Sand save 100% 1
Birdie Ave 6.38 1
Strokes gained putting 1.91 2
"" " " tee-green 2.395 3
Total strokes gained 4.305 1
Obviously he is not the best in driving & greens in regulation but it's in the short game & putting that he gains shots. His putting & saves are exceptional . Watching him play he does very little wrong but with a stat of 6.38 birdies ave per round is a total that shows us where he is at. His game is totally focused on getting the ball into the hole in the least amount of shots ie, the card tells the story & it doesn't matter how but how many.

Aiming the club
Here's a quick video I recorded regarding how to aim the club. This element of the set-up is nearly always overlooked.
